3. Public Presentation:
Mr. Lane and Mr. Sargent, Lost Nation ATV Club, presented the Board with a request to use some of the Brookfield Class 3 roads for ATV’s. They currently use roads in Roxbury, Northfield, and Braintree. All club members have their ATV registered with the DMV and VASA. They are interested in operating on Eagle Peak, Roxbury Line, Cram Hill, and Davis Acres roads. The Club has a contract with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and they “police” themselves. Mr. Lane presented a map of the area they would like to use along with a formal “Ordinance Regulating All-Terrain Vehicle Sportsman use on Town Highways” contract. The Club operates from the middle of May through the end of October.
The Board has tabled the decision until there can be a public hearing held sometime after Town Meeting.
Mr. Preston spoke to the Board concerning mowing the roadside for the Town. He is working with a client and the job should be completed by the end of June. The Town will be renting a mower beginning the last week in June through the first 3 weeks in July. Nick Peck will be available for overlap time if Mr. Preston isn’t available.
Mr. Kimmel reported the Annual Town Report has been sent to the printers. He has ordered 625 copies.
4. Highway Report:
Mr. Haggett reported the road crew has been adjusting their hours to compensate for all of the snow storms to help save on overtime.
The Board worked on the Route 65 material rates so they can submit an invoice to the State for the winter maintenance.
5. Accounts Payable:
On motion by Mr. Kimmel, seconded by Mr. Haggett, the Board approved the warrants in the amount of $7,042.07. This total included a payment to Freightliner of NH, Inc. for $1,829.96, Bushey Generator Sales & Service, LLC for $1,295.00 and White Rock lumber for $747.60. Vote 3-0-0
